From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L. Armentrout
3.0

I really enjoyed the ride: it was fast paced, packed with action and twists and turns.
Hawke and Poppy’s witty banter was so much fun and their chemistry sizzling from the very beginning.
The romance was present all along, although it happened a bit too fast for my taste; it made it easier for me to get into their world and connect with them.

The main drawback that I felt was in the writing: it seemed too simple, with some repetitions along the way (her being the Maiden, the Chosen); I also wanted the action scenes to be longer, to make me “feel” and “live” the danger in a specific situation. And the ending was rushed and like a mess, as if the author suddenly decided to throw in some action and twists, that didn’t make sense to me.
