This was...okay. I realize it's young adult but I felt like Aly was just good at everything and knew everything and when she was doing something foolish, it didn't really come back to bite her when I felt like it should have. I also felt like the trickster god should have been a bit more...tricky? The plot kept things moving for the most part, and there were some interesting little spy parts. But I felt it was unrealistic for Aly the teen to be teaching grown adults some very basic stuff. I think this has more appeal for people who have read other series by Tanora Pierce and can enjoy the cameos from those series in this book.
