This fantasy adventure is thoroughly enjoyable! It hits all the notes of interweaving narratives and building tension to arrive at a complete and emotional story. It's snappy, it's well-fleshed out, it's engaging, and it's queer. The writing paints the scenes to life. I can't recommend enough.

Although I do find that Priory leans a bit heavily on fantasy stories before it (can we finally shelve the "exotic east" and "historically white west" themes?), it really makes the book fit snugly with Tolkien, Rothfuss, Martin, Paolini, etc. AND better yet, unlike too many fantasy authors, it's unapologetically feminist.
