The Haunting of Beatrix Greene: Vol. 1 by Vicky Alvear Shecter, Rachel Hawkins, Ash Parsons
4.0
I received the electronic version of this book from Netgalley as an advance reading copy.
This was a quick read and had a very gothic feel to it, very similar to A Haunting in Hill House, I believe if this was ever made into a TV show, the Hill House cast would be perfect for it.
Pros:
1. A quick read.
2. Fairly descriptive.
3. Rather than horror, this book evoked terror which I really enjoyed.
Cons:
1. Lack of character development, so they can be quickly forgotten.
2. The ending where Beatrix Greene turns into the Phoenix from X-Men's Phoenix saga was hilarious. Wish it was better crafted with easters eggs or something.
