Oh man, this book got me. I was so proud of myself for not getting too emotional and not shedding any tears as I was nearing the end of the book, knowing what was coming. Then the waterworks started and did not stop until the after the very last page. I fell in love with Gizelle and loved reading about her adventures with Lauren. You could really see their connection, and I loved all of the pictures. The book wasn't just a love story of a girl and her dog though, it also touched on family and dealing with a loved one with addiction issues. An all around emotional story with cute bits of humor and adventure throughout. A book that most any dog lover would enjoy...just make sure you have some Kleenex handy!
