Block Shot by Kennedy Ryan

4.0

Warning: It's a messy love triangle.

I love Kennedy Ryan's MMCs because of the level of devotion they have for our heroines. I love how they chase and do everything to get the girl. I kinda hate how it takes so many years for the happy ending. Too many years wasted, usually because of the FMCs' insecurities and hang-ups.

"I saw you first. I had you first. I want you back."

Jared is not a good man but Banner is his exception. They meet in their senior year of college and then it takes 10 years for them to have another chance, and only because Jared realized there's no one for him but Banner. He's totally book-boyfriend material... except for crossing a line in his bid to get her. I love that Jared fell for Banner because of her brains, that he was attracted to her regardless of how she looked like.

"Her brain was the first thing about her that turned me on. We faced off once in our Debate & Public Speaking class. Needless to say, she shredded my every argument and ripped apart each of my rebuttals.
I could barely walk back to my seat my dick was so hard."

It did not take long for Banner to be convinced that he was serious about her because she clearly saw that he had a single-minded focus when it comes to wanting her.

"God, why does he have to be this way? How does he look at me with the same . . . intent now as he did that night? Like I’m the same person? When most guys didn’t even bother to look twice then, he looked at me like this. Like he’s looking at me tonight and doesn’t even notice that now I actually have a waistline."
