Unfortunately, I didn’t love this book like I thought a would. A fantasy, locked-room murder mystery checks all of my boxes, but I just didn’t love the author’s writing style. I found the MC’s inner monologue quite annoying and I thought there were some pacing issues. 12 days is a long time to be locked in with a murderer and not find out what’s going on. 

I also thought the sex scene at the end felt forced and out of place.

 

Overall, not a bad book, but not for me 🫤
