A very quick, painfully beautiful read. It felt intentionally heart-wrenching and at moments like the author wanted us to suffer reading it. I don’t love this vision of our future and I generally prefer more hopeful dystopian fiction, but I think this is an important read that will linger with me for a while.
Graphic: Violence, Gore, Death, Child death, Grief, Injury/Injury detail, and War
Moderate: Animal death, Animal cruelty, and Homophobia
