Darkness births the Stars: an epic enemies-to-lovers fantasy romance by Sarah Lee Wohn

emotional mysterious sad tense slow-paced

3.5

This story follows Noctis, the former God of Darkness, and Rada, the exiled Goddess of Light. These two were once enemies, once lovers and now reluctant allies. The banter between them was wonderful and I really loved reading about their story throughout time. How these two started at the beginning of the book and how they were drawn back together throughout was a story filled with tragedy, passion and chaos. There are definitely high stakes when it comes to Rada and Noctis and their story unfolds in dual timelines which makes it almost seem like you are reading about two different couples.

Forbidden love/enemies to lovers is a favorite trope of mine and I was so excited to read this one! If you are looking to delve into a 700 page epic romantic fantasy book, this one should do the trick. While I did enjoy this book I did find myself getting a little bored in parts. Overall I'll give this one 3.5 stars.
