Anne's House of Dreams by L.M. Montgomery

This was a really great installation in the series. We see Anne "settling down", but staying as magnetic and fresh as ever. I love Montgomery's revolving cast of side characters so much. Miss Cornelia is a new favorite of mine (although I do still miss Marilla very much). It is hard seeing all Anne's education and job experience being used for... like, literally nothing? But that's pretty standard for the time and I don't know what else I expected.
I think having Anne struggle with a was a good choice. It's so very common and rarely written about and I think it sobered up a main character who often seems a little too good to be true.
Honestly, I didn't expect Montgomery to write about Anne and Gilbert's sex life because these books are oh so sterile in that respect, but the stork thing was absolutely painful. The sly way the first pregnancy was hinted at and announced works just fine and I don't know why she had to go all metaphorical on us for the second one.
