Can’t believe I left Emily till last this was wild! I read an essay on the feminist themes in here before reading which definitely influenced my interpretation. The cycle of abuse shown in here is so well written and conceptualised. Finally, do NOT trust anyone who calls this a romance (Heathcliff will pay for his crimes against women)
