I absolutely loved this book. The English countryside village, the grumpy-but-hot next door neighbour, and the ready friendships described in this novel were such cozy elements, I didn’t want it to be over. I loved the decrepit cottage and the bats in the attic and the cute friendship with hot neighbour’s daughter. And of course, a phone box library. There was nothing I didn’t love. This is my first Poppy Alexander novel and I am excited to read more from her.
