An outstanding entry into understanding that not every Jewish practice is as seen on TV. Some of our very old practices have been almost entirely removed from our purview.
Jewitchery is one of those beautiful traditions and Jean makes it incredibly real for those who are in the know (and/or practicing) and for those who are only just hearing about it now. It is safe, encompassing, and a brilliant way to bring our intention into a world we have every intention of healing.
Slow burn/ will they or won't they antics aside... this is a wonderful story to fall in love with reading about characters that don't know they're falling in love.
Yes, it does presents a fictional story of the very real present-Antisemitism in our community. Why does it happen? Who can we trust? What do we do?
We rely on each other! If we manifest and invite and cultivate enough strength within ourselves, and we'll find the energy will make itself known to us. It will eventually make itself known, and it will stay with us.
