I love this collection- I'll admit, there are a couple of stories in it that I kind of hate ("Talboys," they should never have dug you up and published you) but there's really only one story in it that I find mediocre and that really says a lot about Sayers- even the few stories that suck are still always interesting. (Incidentally, said mediocre story is The Queen's Square, which felt like a story that Agatha Christie would have written, and a bit more clearly.)
But most of the stories in this one are great, fun and vivid in a way that lots of other very good mystery short story writers don't always manage, and I even managed to revisit one that I'd previously disliked and now appreciate more ("The Entertaining Episode of the Article in Question"). While I may, as a Montague Egg appreciator, attempt at some point to trade this book in for a volume that has the complete Sayers rather than just the complete Wimsey, I'm glad that I own it and always have it on tap.
