I remember reading this book as a kid and it was good then, but there is so much more depth to it than I remember. The pieces of the story fit together so perfectly, and in a way that evokes wonder--not like the author's trying to be clever, but just beautifully, mysteriously destiny-like. And of course, just being a fascinating story to begin with. There are echoes of things I'm sure smarter people than me will be able to analyze, but it's a fun read no matter how much you pick up on!
