I was a massive fan of Road Dahl’s books as a child, and they, along with some other stories, were where my love of reading truly began. Surprisingly, Matilda was one I had never got round to reading in my childhood, although the 1996 film was and still is an all time favourite of mine. This was extra special as I was reading it to my two young children as well as myself for the first time, and it was so magical to see them so immersed in the story. It was really lovely for us to be able to share this story together.
