Very informative by bringing an understanding of different cultures that settled the United States and how those cultures influenced regionally.  It's like having an unfinished puzzle and its box in front of me. I know what it's suppose to look like and how it comes together. But not until the pieces click will the puzzle bring the full picture. 

The one thing I'd love to see eventually is an updated conclusion. This was published in 1989 (?). A lot has changed since then.
