Why is this book ?

I get why people like it. It's enemies to lovers, fake dating, wedding, workplace, only one bed. All of the keywords are here. Aaron is the perfect book boyfriend, completely unrealistic, sweet escapism.

BUT Catalina is so fucking stupid. Aaron is so very clearly in love with her, everyone can see it, no one believes in the enemies thing. The first half was boring, the wedding part was really fun (except that we didn't even get to see the wedding), and the ending was the worst. This book was way too long.
The cancer drama was the worst resolution I've ever read. Why did we need to bring his dad into it ? And the dad doesn't even die so that everyone can have a happy ending ? Come on, at least commit to it. Why is Catalina making his dad dying her moment, the moment changing her life. Girl this is not about you. And stop sitting on his lap in the hospital waiting room, no one wants to see that.

Catalina was right, she had every right to hate Aaron, because what he did was unforgettable. He says these things, doesn't defend her when people get rude at work, but we're supposed to believe that's the same Aaron that is the sweetest man on earth for the rest of the book ?
Can he please stop calling her baby every other sentence. Can she please stop talking about Clark Kent and his ocean blue eyes, we get it, he's hot. Why did the sex go from 0 to 100 during their first kiss, that was uncomfortable. Also the diet culture talk just wasn't handled well.

I love fanfiction, I can suspend my disbelief, I can deal with a quirky and slightly stupid protagonist. This was just not good.
