Before Your Memory Fades
by Toshikazu Kawaguchi
I feel like the author has a formula and will always be able to make you cry. I don’t say it as a criticism but it’s not a compliment either? It’s just something I think is true about his three (four?) books. I love that we have recurring characters and familial ties between the new and the old. I adored Kazu and her daughter, I was heartbroken and surprised by some of the stories (the last one specifically, that was so hard to read) and I will, as always, be back for more from this series.
