The Perfect Guest by Casey Kelleher

4.0

Stephanie's mother has died from an overdose, so she goes to live with her estranged grandma, Kay. Things aren't easy between them. But things get worse when Kay comes across a teenage couple and a baby living in a tent not far from her home. Despite Stephanie saying it's a bad idea, Kay allows them to stay with them for a few days. Soon, things go from bad to worse. But why does Stephanie feel like she's the one in the wrong?

Aaaaaaghh. Honestly, that's it. That's my review. Or at least, that's all it should be. Ooooh, this book made me so damn mad. If I had a magic power, I'd use it to climb into this book and give each person a swift kick in the arse. The stupidity of some of the characters had me wanting to smack their heads against a wall. The stress I felt when reading this made me want to throw it across the room. I don't know if I hated it or loved it, but it definitely made me feel some kinda way.
Don't get me wrong, this was a great read. It was a little slow to start with, but picked up fairly quickly and had me feeling awful for Stephanie. There were a couple of little twists thrown in that makes you rethink everything you thought whilst reading. I certainly didn't see any of that ending coming. But that's why it pissed me off so much.
Go and read this one asap because I need to rant about it with someone who has read it.
