Bookshelf Whispers by Bhagyashree Ranade is a story of two Akinsa and Emilie. Akinsa is an aspiring Kabaddi player who loves poetry. Akinsa came to India in a student exchange program. Both are grown in a different environment, yet their paths cross, and they are attracted. Will they be able to maintain a healthy relationship with their differences?
As the book title mentions, the book is about love, but it also holds the perspective of different people for life, happiness, continuous efforts to make their life best, and patriarchy. The author crafts each character tactfully and gives every character a proper space to deal with their own set of challenges.
The beautiful book cover is why I picked this read, and I must say it didn’t disappoint me. Bookshelf whispers is a short read with a good storyline and is recommended to contemporary book readers.
