My favourite of the whole series, I adored Niko and Sam.
Sam is such a wonderful father and despite all his personal challenges and all the injustices he had to endure to adopted his baby girl, he never, not once, thought to leave her. He fought even when the fight was unfair and all seemed lost. He's gorgeous, wonderful man, devoted to his child and to his chosen family.
Niko is so sweet! He maybe made some mistakes with Derek, but he was never mean and he tried to make amends and educate himself.

I loved their first meeting, the connection, the uncertainty and the undeniable attraction.

There were a lot of things that meddled into their relationship: Niko's struggles with his work and his dreams of another job, Sam's monetary problems, his battle for adoption and the insecurities about his body.
Moreover, Sam wasn't always fair to Niko and he hurt him in several occasions; luckily for him Niko, sweet, thoughtful, attentive Niko, was able to forgive him and give him another chance.
The sex scenes are different from the usual in MM romance, but not less beautiful or emotional: despite all the difficulties, they could find a way to physically love each other too.

I recently reread this book and I updated my review.
