When I’m listening to audiobooks, I look for a few things – a story that is fast paced, engaging and fun, and a narrator that isn’t ANNOYING! Bad, the second book from the Mad, Bad, and Dangerous to Know Trilogy on audiobook fit the bill – it’s a fun summer read (well, it may feel like summer in England right now but this weather may not last long, so had to make the most of it…)

The narrator, Emily Atack (who played Charlotte in the Inbetweeners, not that you’d know unless you looked it up…) does a great job of reading this novel in a really engaging way. Chloe Esposito’s novels are always high octane, fast-paced and a lot of fun, and this audiobook followed this style beautifully.

As with the first in the series, Mad, you need to strap in for a whirlwind ride with this novel. The protagonist (if we can call her a protagonist – she is a pretty awful person!) Alvie has comitted all sorts of atrocities whilst visiting her twin sister in Italy, and now she’s dealing with the consequences in true Alvie fashion. She’s insulting, rude, and awful to almost everyone – and I loved reading about her! It’s refreshing to read about a character who is unashamedly awful, and Alvie fits the bill so well. I don’t want to give too much away but this is a really fun read that had me truly entertained. You know it’s all ridiculous but that’s part of the fun!
