Gerald's Game by Stephen King
4.0
In so many ways, this book is brilliant. King’s treatment of the subject of child sexual abuse, alongside Jessie’s processing throughout her ordeal both physically and mentally, is incredibly well done. My main gripe is that it meandered along way too much after her escape. I also think it would’ve been a lot scarier if the grave robber/psychopath hadn’t been so explicitly portrayed at the end. Better to leave it a question, I think. But altogether an awesome read!
