I have read and adored all of the Air Awakens books and off shoot series and still Elise Kova manages to make me addicted to each book and story. An Heir of Frost was certainly no exception.

This series is very complex and is linked to two previous series so I won't even try to begin to explain it. What I will say is that if you enjoy magic, action, danger, adventure and romance, then you will love the books based in this world.
The different types of magic continue to wow me in every book and Kova manages to somehow bring new magical ideas to the story every time. It is such a big part of these books and it is done with such imagination.
The worldbuilding is utterly perfect and I feel I know this world back to front now. There is so much detail and I love the additional layers added in each new story. Elise Kova somehow keeps it all new and exciting each time.

The characters are excellent. The lead in this series is Eira, who can manipulate water. She has had a tough upbringing and although she is incredibly strong, powerful and clever, she also doubts herself like anyone else and worries over so much. At times it feels like she has the weight of the world on her shoulders and it all makes her feel relatable and realistic.
All of the other side characters add so much to the series including humour, romance and excitement. I adore this crew and I can't wait to read the final book in this series.

Elise Kova is one of my favourite fantasy writers and her words always whisk me away into her worlds. I was addicted from the first word to the last which is probably why I read it in a day! I simply couldn't put it down!

Overall, a great installment in this series and pne that has not only set up the final book perfectly but also stands alone as a brilliant story on its own. Highly addictive and I couldn't recommend these series more.

Please note that I was given this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
