Elevation by Stephen King

4.0

Not the type of stories I’d expect from Steven King. More thoughtful and character driven. He’s got a brand and it belongs to him, so when he deviates from that there is natural disappointment. Where’s the horror? Why am I not scared? These two stories—the first a parable about prejudice and the second about a reluctant dog owner who learns to develop a bond—don’t have much of either. The second story earned some redemption with a death scene having the blood and gore we expect from King.
