My first Toni Morrison, and *wow* - an epic somehow told in a brief~170 pages. I've never read prose like hers, and I'm excited to read more; feel honored to live in a time when her writing is here; and am reminded of and shocked and shamed by the cruelties that humans rain on each other (and I don't mean the characters in the novel). It feels like somehow the world needed and needs this writing, and Toni gives it. Woof, wow, damn.
