I always love Karen Rose's books. That's a given and every time I pick a book my expectations are way too high though I try to hold it back. But she always surprises me.
This book was no exception at all. I am amazed at the power of her characters. They are too deep, raw, and above everything else amazing.
The book gives me creeps, especially the books where there's sexual assault affect me so badly. So that kind of gave me a bit of a hard time and that is what made me take breaks in between. Otherwise, I would have been able to finish it in one sitting. Despite being 660 pages long it's a very fast read.
I have no idea how she comes up with such stories and characters.
Her books are a must-read if we enjoy crime-mystery thrillers. The way she keeps the suspense till the end is too good. There was a point where I try to figure it out by myself but I stopped doing it, mainly because I will be able to spot the person behind all the trouble but when it comes to the backstory that is where the complete power of the reveal lies.
I hope anyone who picks this book up enjoys it and the rest of her books.
But have to say that, unlike her other books, this killer didn't scare me at all.
