Queer Eye: Love Yourself. Love Your Life.
by Karamo Brown, Jonathan Van Ness, Antoni Porowski, Tan France, Bobby Berk
I love these guys. I love the show. I wanted to LOVE this book, but I didn’t really know what I was getting into. The first and third sections were super fun, but section two, the bulk of the book, just didn’t do it for me.
The first section included chapters from each of the boys about their lives. They are a lot more dynamic than I originally assumed. However, I have listened to JVN’s memoir and it was a lot more interesting to learn about him in depth. I imagine it would be the same for the others.
Section two was the guys focusing on their Queer Eye specialties. Definitely informative and uplifting, but I did end up skimming a lot of it.
Section three is where they all came together and used their specialities to throw a dinner party. I loved this idea and thought it was super cute. Their recipes also didn’t hurt.
This is a cute coffee table book, but I wouldn’t read it again. Grateful to my library for letting me borrow it!
