realising your baby brain has protected you from traumatizing memories is scary and weird and this book shows exactly that. the terrifying circle of abuse and the hope of it eventually ending are also present here and it's nice to know that there's a way to do that at least in the fictional world.

nevertheless, i was incredibly confused for the majority of the book but i think i was supposed to.
