The Wrong Game is a standalone romance by Kandi Steiner. It is grumpy/sunshine, forced proximity romance centered around the love of football.
Gemma is coming off a seemingly insurmountable heartbreak and is in no way ready to dive into a relationship. She might be ready for some fun though. Determined to put herself back out there in a way she is comfortable with, she's decided to put her Chicago Bears season tickets to good use and take a different guy to every home game. Enter Zach Bowen, her practice round. He enjoys his time with her a little too much to accept that she won’t be taking him to the rest of the games. Can Zach convince Gemma to give him a real shot? Or will Gemma’s past hurt rule her life forever?
The Wrong Game was an entertaining story focused on learning to trust again after immense heartache and stepping out of your comfort zone. Gemma has been through it and while her lists, rules, and rigidness may make you want to scream at times, the reasoning behind why she is that way is laid out beautifully and has you sympathizing and rooting for her until the end. Zach is an absolute dream, seeing past Gemma’s OCD to the incredible woman she is. He knows he wants a life with Gemma and isn’t afraid to risk it all and execute huge romantic gestures to win her over. This story is at times heartbreaking and will have you laughing out loud at the next turn. If you’re a contemporary romance lover then this book is certainly worth a read!
