About a month after Alex Craft's previous adventure she is called to a nature preserve to try and commune with the ghost of one of several left feet that have been found recently, when she admits that she can't work with so little she joins the search party and winds up finding a bunch more left feet instead. She also witnesses an attack on the city streets by a creature born of dark magic that is hunting her and it all leads to more chaos.
Alex spends less time mooning over the various men in her life in this story than she did in book 1 and the pacing was good while expanding the world a little farther by actually taking her into faelands this time which was interesting.
