korigirl 's review for:
The Late Show
by Michael Connelly
This is a pretty typical police procedural. I would have rated it a 3.5,so I rounded up to 4. The narrator for the audio book sounded like she needed a vacation. She was devoid of emotion which made for a flat reading, but I do put a little blame on the author for the flatness. The protagonist is a female detective that I would have loved to relate to, but she was not very likable at all even though you could tell the author tried to make her relatable. There were several story lines happening throughout the book to move it along so that it did not get boring.
