I love upstairs/downstairs romances! This one is also a whirlwind romance filled with fun. I loved how they met and that he really did need to rescue her. Everything at that club was terrifying and I was holding my breath afraid of what was going to happen. I laughed at how much her mistress liked to get involved in peoples lives and would fight. There's so much packed into this story from the surprising twist with her family, her mistress, and babies.
Gillian is definitely not one to back down. I loved her right away because she didn't hesitate to go after her mistress or to do what she felt like doing around James. She wasn't ashamed of her life and had many friends that wanted her to be happy.
James will have your heart in an instant. He cares so much about his mother and doesn't care what people think. I loved how he got along with people and that he didn't blink at anything she told him.
