Jeeves in the Offing by P.G. Wodehouse

3.0

I've seen many Wodehouse books over the years in bookstores and libraries and this is the first one that I took home to read. The cover had a blurb "Wodehouse always lifts your spirits, no matter how high they happen to be already." It was amusing but had a considerable number of references to previous books. I think you have to read these in order. I am now going to try to start at the beginning (although from my limited research, it looks like the beginning was many short stories published in magazines).
