i am feeling benevolent and gave it two stars instead of one because there were a couple of moments in the book that i did actually enjoy. mostly it was just incomprehensible and if i wasn’t reading this for a book club i would have dropped it less than 100 pages in. i had more fun getting my wisdom teeth removed three days ago than i did reading constant descriptions of people’s nipples, completely nonsensical metaphors, and twelve paragraphs of history that was genuinely not relevant to anything at all and never came up again. at no point did i care about any of the characters or what was happening to them except for the dog and he had to go and die so what was even the goddamn point

(copied from my goodreads idk)
