'The Tainted and the Tamed: A Class Difference Spicy Vampire Romance Novella' is a part of the multi-author novella series Bound by Blood Series featuring eight standalone tales. Scheduled for publication on September 8, 2023.
'The Tainted and the Tamed' is set in Kaiden, a fantasy setting inspired by Japan circa in 1900, with the author's blending of romance, vampires and the generalized culture, traditions and history of the era. The worldbuilding of Kaiden, the ruling government and the characters created, leave an intriguing world still left to be explored after this quick and interesting story. At only 202 pages, I was not ready to leave this world behind and look forward to reading what is "a likely future sequel" of the Vampires of Kaiden. Please!?!
The MFC, Mukai Murasaki, has a 'difficult lung condition' with a chronic illness and disability representation. She travels from a 'modern city of smoke-belching factories' in hopes of easing her condition. With all that she suffers, Murasaki does not have a victim mentality. She is a brave, strong of mind and character, young woman. Our MMC, Asami Haruki, is tormented and needs a hug. I really don't want to say more due to spoilers.
'The Tainted and the Tamed' gives us just a small glimpse into a world I want more from. More from The Vampires of Kaiden, the world, the main characters and side characters alike. I look forward to reading more from C.K. Beggan.
