Brigands & Breadknives by Travis Baldree
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Thank you to Tor publishing, NetGalley, and Travis Baldree for an advanced copy!

Slipping back into this world feels like settling in with coffee and a pastry - warm, familiar, and just the right amount of chaos. This time we follow Fern, everyone’s favourite foul-mouthed bookseller, whose fresh start in Thune quickly spirals into drunken mishaps, chaos-goblins, and mercenaries with bad intentions.

This installment was definitely more action-packed than the previous novels, but it still keeps that cozy heart Baldree is known for: friendship, self-discovery, and a reminder that change is rarely simple. Fern’s sharp tongue and reluctant growth made her such a joy to follow.

If you loved Legends & Lattes and Bookshops & Bonedust, this is another treat you’ll want to sink your teeth into.
