A really genuinely creepy idea that never quite feels fully fleshed out. It might have been the prose, which feels uncomfortably YA-ish at times, or the author's unwillingness to fully commit to the cosmic horror vibes she introduces. It still a good book - I read it in two days and was nearly late to work because I couldn't put it down - but it could have been a lot better.
