This will be biased because Danzy senna’s writing is ELITE for me. That alone deserves 5 stars.
The social commentary, the plot, the characters in this one were just superb. I love senna’s voice and this one felt like an episode of South Park lmao.
The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is that I reserve that for mind blowing books. This wasn’t mindblowing stuff ~per se~ BUT I fucking enjoyed every moment of reading this. I was engaged, I laughed, I could not put it down.
Was this a revolutionary piece of work? No. Was it entertaining? Hell yes. Is it worth you picking up for a palate cleanser with just the right amount of social snark? 1000%.
Please read this because everyone deserves to experience Senna’s prose.
I will say I liked the plot of Caucasia better, but this one was FANTASTIC as well.
I think I’m convincing myself to give this 5 stars lol
