This was the perfect story to read right after reading “So You Want to Talk About Race”. A bunch of “woke” characters that don’t think they need to check themselves and a front row seat to how damaging and exhausting that can be. The main character is so cool and I loved her close female friendships. The first half was great but the plot fell a little flat for me towards the end. Still, I loved the character development (although I would have appreciated hearing less from the most annoying character, Alix).
