This was by far the weakest of the series so far. Eliza’s storyline just wasn’t as interesting as Mercedes or Edison’s and honestly, it felt like this should really be in Edison’s perspective because of the tie-in to his sister. The investigation also felt sort of lackluster. Besides the timeline, nothing was really developed around the profile until after they already identified the killer. In general this felt like it focused more on the team’s dynamic, which made it impossible to ignore how unrealistic this is. There are so many professional boundaries the team routinely oversteps, and it was so glaringly obvious in this book that it actually got on my nerves.
