Bedfellow
by Jeremy C. Shipp
Jeremy C. Shipp expertly navigates the tricky shoals of mind-manipulation in this somehow upbeat, charming, and yet deeply creepy novella. He's also created two of the most interesting kid characters I've encountered in horror; kids are usually creepy or irritating or maaaaybe lovable, but Tomas and Kennedy are believable little oddballs, and I really liked them.
