One is a Promise by Pam Godwin

This book… met expectations.

I’ve been in a reading slump for the past few weeks, not enjoying books I know I’d normally like, so I needed a reset. And, obviously, the best reading slump reset is an over the top, smutty romance novel. This most certainly was that.

One Is A Promise is not without problems, but reading it made me realize that there are some genre themes (that were exemplified in this story) that are objectively problematic but which I find very funny (e.g., Alpha Males with Massive Cocks, Sex in Awkward Settings, endings that are *so* extra, among others), and some that I just find objectively problematic (e.g., dubious consent). But I also realized that I can find all sorts of problems with a book like this and still have so much fun reading it.
