Dark Currents by Lindsay Buroker

5.0

I am in love with this series! I did some searching and have found that there are at least eight books which fills me with both wonder and dread (as if my TBR isn't long enough!) but I already have the first three so....

"Dark Currents" takes the mercenary group The Emperor's Edge to a secluded lake on the outskirts of Stumps. The team has gotten closer and more fit due to Sicarius' intense training and they are doing good in the hope's of getting the emperor's attention and getting exonerated. Akstyr is gaining control of his Science, Maldynado is still a womanizing but funny dandy and Books just wants to prove that he can be useful, especially since Amaranthe has done so much for him. The dynamic relationships is what pushes this from a story about solving mystery to a fun and intriguing adventure. We want the Edge to succeed even if every time they try to do right the enforcers try to shoot them on sight.
