The Butcher and the Wren by Alaina Urquhart
3.0

*audiobook*

For her first book, I really enjoyed it! It was a fun ride and very entertaining.

The narrators didn’t get on my nerves, it was very clearly organized, and the adjectives brought the imagery to life.
I loved the split perspective of both main characters. The butcher did sound like I was listening to a dateline episode when it was being narrated, though.
You can tell that she used a lot of what she learned from doing the podcast and applied it here.

I know it doesn’t have great reviews, but maybe the audio perspective is what really did it for me.

I’m proud of her for stepping out of her comfort zone and creating this. I’m excited to see what she does with the next book.
