The Ministry of Unladylike Activity by Robin Stevens

adventurous lighthearted mysterious slow-paced

3.75

This book just doesn’t have the same charm as the Murder Most Unladylike Series. I enjoyed being able to see some of the old characters again, but the book is certainly for a younger audience. With MMU, older readers could enjoy it as well because the characters are 13-16ish. In this book, the MCs are 10 or 11 and it feels a whole lot more childish. It feels anti-“grown-up” and the petty drama between 11 year olds girls is annoying. Beyond that, it is a mindless read but a cozy one, too. The murder could have happened a little bit quicker, but I love the typical English manor mystery. I liked the diverse cast of characters, too, and the way the book addressed the racism they faced.
