This was one of the most unexpected romantasy books I've read to date. It is definitely original and I didn't play trope bingo - yay! The FMC has a very dry, dark sense of humour. The book would have been much shorter if her internal comments were not included in the book. I wasn't expecting the book to be set in the future, so that was an interesting change. I honestly didn't know too much about Hercules, so the retelling worked for me. Most of the plot points were evident to see, but it was still an enjoyable ride. I found it hard to determine if the writing was actually good, due to the way it was written, but I enjoyed it. The narrators were amazing! While Teddy and Aiden are to die for due to their growliness, the female narrator stole the show in how she performed. Loved Nyx, the sentient, sassy snake. I wasn't expecting the Spartans to be so promiscuous. There wasn't much sex on the page in this one, but I am keen to see what it will look like in the next book/s.
