Piecing Me Together by Renée Watson

3.0

3.5 stars. I would have enjoyed this book more if it were either a bit longer and more traditional or a bit shorter and more lyrical/poetic. As it is, I felt like it couldn't decide which it was trying to be. There were random, brief poetic sections that didn't seem to match with the plain language and narrative style of the rest. Aside from the main character, none of the characters or relationships seemed fully fleshed out to me, which made it hard to invest or connect.
