Chasing River

So this novel really had me slacking. Somehow these 470 pages were a bit exhausting. Don’t get me wrong I think the type of this story is very unique, especially the main character and the culture. But I feel like the book could’ve been 200 pages less and it would still be the same plot.
I also think most people knew the „plottwist “ from the start on like me. There was not any not expected action happening and the epilogue? Very stereotypical.
I feel like this kind of story are kind of mainstream and there was no big excitement reading the book. Also too many characters and not much development expect the two main characters.
The best thing in my opinion was the unique style of the book including art of the characters and cute chapter entrances.
